Daniel’s account is unusual in that he does not think he was misled. He signed up quickly, agreed to terms he did not read closely, and was charged exactly what those terms said he would be charged.
What he objects to is the sequencing. The introductory rate lapsed, the dose escalated, and the renewal ran — three ordinary events which happened to land in the same month and which together produced a bill he had not modelled.
Nobody lied to me. I was given four accurate numbers at four different moments and never the total.
When he restarted elsewhere, he asked one question first: what does this cost at the highest dose, including consultations, per month. He describes getting a straight answer in under a minute, and says he would have asked it the first time if it had occurred to him.
